Music

The best music comes from the inside.  Unfortunately, Lewis has quite a bit of darkness and dreariness inside him.  I wonder how the community is doing handling even one of him.

Winter Wonderland

I heard this song playing in the store today, and I thought, “No, I don’t think Floyd’s going anywhere.” He can’t just break the tradition, though, so he’s changing his name.  He may also put on a costume, but I make no promises there.

Should-be Poetry

The ending “ough” has at least four different pronunciations in the English language.  Is there any construction that has more?  Why can’t we just stick with one?  Better yet, let’s just get rid of it altogether.  There are better, easier ways of spelling those sounds.  Then again, if we did that Lewis’ poem would never work.

Predictions

There are, of course, real people much like Terry who predict natural disasters all the time and most of their predictions are misses.  These are not real scientists, these are just people making predictions because they think they’re good at it.  The people who believe their predictions tend to conveniently forget their misses and only remember the hits.  Unfortunately, their predictions are often so vague that anything could be some kind of hit.  Terry should have been more vague, and he would have done better.

Homeopathy

Of course, homeopathy is just water.  At least, it’s some kind of substance that has been diluted in water so much that the original substance is gone, and only the water (and perhaps some kind of mystical homeopathic “vibration”) remains.  For Darryl, I think this is harmless, because the alternative birdseed is still there, plus the homeopathic birdseed.  It all combines together to be the best for bird health.  It just doesn’t cure what ails you.

Alternative

I just hope that Josh isn’t actually buying in to that stuff and just likes the berries.  Sounds like a tasty alternative, though.  At least, the birds that eat at our feeder seem to like them better than plain old seeds, and definitely better than the orange peels.  Picky, picky.

Mask

Yes, Josh’s mask is made of leaves.  Just two of them.  His eyes aren’t that big.  I’m not sure if bluebirds normally eat lightning bugs, but they do eat insects normally, so I bet he’d help Josh out in this instance.  Josh also doesn’t seem bothered that Floyd probably woke him up from sleeping.  Why else would he be wearing the mask right then?

Love birds

I mean, really, where do birds go to get some privacy?  That’s all I have to say.

More formations

For those taking notes, only the first one is real.  At least, it’s the only one that has actually been observed in the wild.  I predict the other two will be observed within the next five years.  Mark my words.

Formation

I really have no idea if hummingbirds do fly in formations, but my minimal amount of research, i.e. Google, turned up nothing on the subject.  So, I just made something up that sounded funny.  Perhaps hummingbirds themselves don’t really do this, but I could definitely imagine a flock of Tinas definitely acting in that way.  At least they seem to be organized in some fashion.
